TA SPRINGS, LA. --- Albert George Burns, 69, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, in Covington, La.

Mr. Burns was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Abita Springs. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church. He coached Little League baseball and was an alumnus of St. Stanislaus, Bay St. Louis, and the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lea Burns.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Vassalli Burns of Abita Springs; a son, Albert G. Burns Jr. of Bogalusa, La.; three daughters, Debbie Burns Caraway of Destrehan, La., Suzie Burns Grespo of Tulsa, Okla., and Nancy Burns Sizer of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Charlea Burns Hedrick of Gulfport and Cathy Burns Thornton of Birmingham, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild

Visitation will be from 8:45 to 10:15 a.m. today at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis. Burial will be in Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum in Bay St. Louis.

The family prefers memorials in the form of Masses to be said. 2003 The Sun Herald
