Wilford Huel Veuleman

ST. MARTINVILLE - Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in St. Martinville for Wilford Huel Veuleman, 85, who died Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Acadiana in Lafayette.

Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Mr. Veuleman was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army. During his time in the service he served in the following areas of conflict, Algeria-French Moroccan Tunisian, Sicilian Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Three and one-half years of his service were served in the combat zones. He was a Mason at the Masonic Lodge No. 301, in St. Martinville, he received his 50 Year award. He was also an employee of Texaco for 30 years.

Survivors include his companion, Ms. Cornelia Bienvenue of Lafayette; step-daughter, Geraldine Duhon of Broussard; his sisters, Margaret Wardlow of Montgomery, LA and Mattie Mae Walker of Alexandria, LA; sister-in-law, Marion Veuleman of Lake Arthur; three step grandchildren, Michael Duhon, Benny Duhon and Kathy Baudoin; and three step-great grandchildren, Nat Duhon, Lauren Duhon and Seth Baudoin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Boutte Davis; his parents, Willie and Katie Withers Veuleman; and his brother, Clifton Veuleman.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9 a.m. on Wednesday and continue until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Michael Duhon, Benny Duhon, Brian Walker, John Williams Veuleman, Douglas Veuleman, and Ken Hale.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Veuleman and members of the Mason at the Masonic Lodge No. 301

Pellerin Funeral Homes of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
