Clifford J. McCoy 77 of the Hornet Community went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday October 31, 2012 at 12'22 a.m. after a 10 month battle with lung cancer.

Cliff was born September 13, 1935 in Joplin, son of the late Rev. Francis McCoy and Ida Connor McCoy. He worked for years as a master plumber, working for several companies before retiring in 1998 from Rusk Plumbing's Local 178. He was also a member of the Hornet Cemetery Board for many years, and was a former Deputy Sheriff with Newton County.

He was aso an active member of Hornet Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served on many committees. He had a heart for missions, and made several mission trips to Africa, Mexico, Guatemala and Belize.

In 2011 Cliff was awarded th Missouri Senior of the year award.

In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Carrie Kewer Vanzant, grandson in law Jeremy Wilson and sister Doris Maynard.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Norma Burdge McCoy, thee children, Connnie Kewer and huaband John of Hornet, Terry McCoy and wife Teresa of Roundup Montana, Karen Mosier and husband Leon of Columbus, Kansas. nine grandchildren, Amber Kewer, Wilson Bean and husband John, Jessica Kewer, Everett and husband Chad, Stephanie McCoy, Aaron McCoy and iance Fallon Fuller, Don Vanzant and wife Rachel, Abbi McCoy, Nathan McCoy, Leah Mosier, Derek Mosier seven great grandchildren, Mariah, Marissa, Mariam, Issac, Isaiah, Jaxon, Bryson, brother, Bill McCoy of Joplin, sister, Steppe of Carl Junction, a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday November 3, 2012 at 1p.m. in Bible Holiness Assembly of God in Neosho Mo. Interment will follow in Hornet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Friday from 6-7p.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hornet Pentecostal Holiness Church Mission Fund.
