Boy Scout Troop - 1914
A Virtual Cemetery created by: David Smith
Description: One of the first Boy Scout Troops in the state of Indiana was organized in Lizton. Their leader was the Rev. Roy J. Hicks, pastor of the Lizton Methodist Episcopal Church. This troop made a long remembered overland trip to Monon, Indiana starting on Aug. 3, 1914 and carrying their provisions in a covered wagon drawn by two horses. This trip also included a train trip to the Michigan City Prison (which they toured) and a boat ride on Lake Michigan.
