Description: The last crew of the CSA submarine HL Hunley. Eight crewmembers. The HL Hunley sank 4 miles off the coast of Sullivan's Island (Charleston), South Carolina with this crew, on February 17, 1864, after sinking the USS Housatonic. The USS Housatonic was first ship ever to be sunk by a submarine and it's crew. The submarine HL Hunley was raised in 2000 and the eight crewmembers reinterred with the first 2 crews in Magnolia Cemetery, April 17, 2004.
