TWENTY FOUR PERSONS DROWNED In BOYKINS' MILL POND, NEAR CAMDEN, SC May 5, 1860 Boykin, SC --An afternoon of picnicing and fishing turns into a tragedy when around 50 ladies and gentlemen went out on a flat bottom boat and it caught on a snag, and eventually sunk.
