Kraus(e) Family in St Louis Co MO
A Virtual Cemetery created by: Lori A Burkhardt-Lurk
Description: Entire family was murdered by the husband/father, August Kraus, Mar 12, 1903. He then killed himself. He used a four-pound stone hammer and a razor to slice their throats, and then used the razor on himself. He did not use the razor on the baby, however. He was suffering from mental illness, according to the St Louis Post-Dispatch, Mar 13, 1903 and Mar 14, 1903. The paper also spells the name as Krause.
