Mildred J. (Almeida) Eriksen of Marshfield, a retired model and former Miss Massachusetts, died Tuesday at her home. She was 82. Born in Boston, Mrs. Eriksen lived in the city's West End for many years. She later lived in Los Angeles for 17 years before moving to Marshfield three years ago. She graduated from Girls High School in Boston in 1947. Mrs. Eriksen was active in beauty pageants in her younger years and was crowned May Queen in 1945, Miss Cape Cod in 1947 and Miss Cape Verde in 1949 and 1950. She was a finalist in the Miss Standard-Times competition in 1950.
In 1951, she was crowned Miss Massachusetts. Mrs. Eriksen became a fashion model and entertainer. She is survived by a daughter, a son, a brother, a sister, four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, New Bedford.
