"Mom loved all crafts and was especially talented at sewing. She also enjoyed gardening, both vegetable and flowers. She particularly enjoyed growing roses and African violets. I use a photo of one her African violets when flowering family member memorials. She was a wonderful, patient, and humble person.

Just as we all have our battles, so did Mom. Her faith saw her through the death of her son, Ken. She battled breast cancer for 12 years when the doctors had only given her a small chance to live 5 years, let alone 12 years - she told the doctor that this was only because it was Jesus's will.

Mom was truly a beautiful person on the inside and also on the outside, even after all the chemo & surgeries changed her body.

I know that Mom was special but as I grow older I realize just how many gifts she and Dad provided to my brother, sister & me - the greatest one is raising us in a loving, Christian home teaching us that Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we may have eternal life. Thank you, Mom!"
