Lillian Maurine Brobst was born in the small town of Benedict, Nebraska, the youngest of three children, and the only daughter of Andrew and Pearl Brobst. Although she would move around several times, she would live in Nebraska her entire life. On August 31, 1940 in Lincoln, she married Donald Wymore, and they remained married for the rest of her life, living first in Alvo, then Beatrice, and finally Omaha. Maurine had two children, Richard and Robert, who died as an infant. In 1960, the family moved to Omaha, and she lived the rest of her life in the house designed by her husband. Breast cancer ran high among the women in her family, and it affected her as well. Various treatments made her weaker and weaker, until finally in 1986, it claimed her life. She was survived by her husband, who died in 1995, her brother, Daniel, who died in 1993, and remaining survivors include her son, Richard, and three grandchildren, including myself.
