Bill and his wife Lena, were high school sweethearts at Chandler High School and married for 58 years. Bill began his career with Standard Oil in Holbrook when, at the age of 33, he felt God's calling to the gospel ministry. He served as Pastor of Greenlaw Baptist Church in Flagstaff for 10 years, and in 1978, joined the staff of the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention retiring in 2000. In 2011, he began a "house church" called Mission Point Baptist Fellowship. His last two weeks were spent peacefully at home under the loving care of his family. Every nurse who took care of Bill throughout his illness received a warm smile and a prayer of thanksgiving.
He loved his family and leaves in addition to his wife Lena, 3 sons, Jim (Scottsdale), Steve (Chandler), Mike (Kimberly), Mesa, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a younger brother Dick of Mobile, Alabama.
