Clara Belle Foglesong
Mrs. Clara Belle (nee Aikman) Foglesong, 78, died Tuesday after an eight month illness.
She was born in Medina County and had lived 46 years in Cuyahoga Falls. She was a graduate of Granger High School, Kent State University and attended the University of Cincinnati.
Mrs. Foglesong was the first teacher at the Sight Saving School in Copley and was a principal at Silver Lake School when she retired.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Cuyahoga Falls, the Cuyahoga Falls Chaper of O.E.S. No. 245, the Friendly Class of her church, and the 50 year Club of Cuyahoga Falls.
She belonged to the Ohio Retired Teachers Association, the Summit County Retired Teachers Association, and the A. A. R. P. Chapter No. 455. She had retired in June, 1949, after 25 years with the Summit Board of Education as a teacher.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Graydon, son Thomas N. of Silver Lake; grandson, Thomas G. of Kent; granddaughters, Patricia K. of Cincinnati, and Janice M. of Silver Lake; sisters Mrs. Helen Dean, 6080 Wadsworth Rd., Medina, Dr. Ruth Damon, Akron; brother Paul Aikman 6666 Wadsworth Rd, Medina.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. M. Aikman, now deceased.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at the Billow Chapel, 23rd Street and Falls Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls, where friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rev. Franklin H. Minck will be officiating.
Interment will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
