She was married on August 9, 1893 to John Frederick Foreman at Fairbury, Nebraska, and to this union were two children, a daughter LaVerne who passed away in infancy, and a son Homer N. were born. Her husband passed away on March 2, 1898 at family home in Coffeyville, KS. Jessie remarried on Jan. 29,1900 to James Fincham and they made their home on the farm east of Blue Rapids until Mr. Fincham's death on Nov. 5, 1933. Since that time she made her home in Blue Rapids except for 4 years she spent with her son, Homer Foreman in Manhattan, KS and the 4 years prior to her death where she lived at both the home of her son Jack and at the home of her niece Mrs. Neal, where she was tenderly cared for during her last illness.
Mrs. Fincham was a devoted wife and a kind and loving mother to her son Homer Nelson Foreman, to her two step-sons, Arthur Fincham, who passed away in 1916 and Fred Fincham, who passed away in August of 1957, and to James Fincham and her three children, Mrs. Thelma Wempe, Russell R., and Jack E. Fincham.
She was survived by one sister, Mrs. C. A. (Effie) McLaughlin, of Beattie, KS; her three children, 17 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchldren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Katherine Bailey Smith, one sister Mrs. R. L. Weeks, and one brother William Smith besides those mentioned before.
Mrs. Fincham became a member of the Methodist Church when a young girl and has held her membership through her entire lifetime. Her favorite 23rd Psalm being her comfort and inspiration. She was a great home lover, finding her chief joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren and making herself beloved by them.
The funeral services were conducted Oct 28th from the Methodist Church and interment was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
