Son of F & S.F. Parsons.∼John Sammus(is) Parsons is the third son of Joseph Burke Parsons and Susan Emiline Heckel. He was born 18 September 1871 in New Castle, Duval,(now known as Arlington), Florida. He married Margaret Ann Mott on 2 October 1898 in Creede, Mineral, Colorado. They returned to New Castle, Duval,Florida sometime in 1903. They are the parents of seven boys and three girls. Joseph Burke Parsons, John Hamilton Parsons, Marguerite Florida Parsons, William Mott Parsons, Norma Parsons, Leonard Lowdermilk Parsons, Woodrow Wilson Parsons, June Parsons, David Mayfield Parsons, and Broward Napoleon Parsons.
Shortly after the birth of David Mayfield Parsons the family moved to the Moore Haven, Glades, Florida area.
