Creek Road, Clay, died Tuesday at St.
Joseph's Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Syracuse, Funda lived
in Clay 27 years. He was the first
president of Local 200 of the Service
Employees International Union. For
the past 30 years, Funda served as a
special assistant to the president of
the local. He was active for many
years in labor, politics and civil affairs.
Funda was a communicant of St.
Agnes Church, Brewerton, and was a
member of its Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife, Rita, and
three cousins.
Services will be at 8:15 a.m. Friday
at Callahan-Hanley-Mooney Funeral
Home and at 9 a.m. in St. Agnes
Church. Burial will be in St. Agnes
Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m.
today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday
at the funeral home, 101 Milton
Ave.
