ROSA GEHRIG, 96, of St. Nazianz, died Friday afternoon at Family Heritage Nursing Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. Monday at Christianson Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. The Rev. Gregory Putzer, S.D.S., will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Gehrig, nee Rosa Heinzen, was born Jan. 28, 1874, in the Town of Eaton, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Beth Heinzen. She was married to Bernard Gehrig April 14, 1894, at St. Nazianz. Her husband preceded her in death April 3, 1943. Mrs. Gehrig was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of St. Gregory Church.
Survivors include four sons, Edmund and Herman of Sheboygan, Joseph of Manitowoc and Hubert of St. Nazianz; eight daughters, Mrs. Frank Fessler of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, Miss Rose Gehrig and Mrs. Antoinette Fessler of Manitowoc, Mrs. Maline Schultz of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Leo Diehl of Teaneck, N.J., Mrs. Millard Powres and Mrs. Joseph Pribyl of Chicago and Mrs. Elenore Rodwick of Sheboygan; 41 grandchildren and 87 great grandchildren. A son, eight brothers and six sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday where a Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
