He is survived by his widow, one brother, John, of Steelton, Pa.; a half-brother, Frank Hess, Iowa; and a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Dorsey, Sharpsburg.
He is a native of Harrisburg, but had made his home at Sharpsburg for the past 15 years. He was a retired farmer.
Funeral services were held at the home; the pastor of the Lutheran Church of Sharpsburg, of which he was a member, officiated; interment was in Mountain View Cemetery.
