Obituary - Mrs. Gertrude Alice Thomas passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.O. Davis, last Saturday evening at 8:35, at the age of seventy six years, six months and twnety four days, of paralysis.
Gertrude Alice Hinckley was born at Vernon, New York on November 21st, 1847. She moved with her parents to northeastern Wisconsin when a child. At the age of eighteen she was married to Charles S. Keyes, a Civil War veteran, who was killed shortly afterward in attempting the rescue of a workman from a log jam.
She was later married to Rev. William Thomas at Strongs Prairie, Wisconsin. To this union, six children were born, two of which died in infancy.
Those living are Will H. Thomas and Mrs. H.J.B. Taylor of Mountain View and Lymon, Wyo., Mrs. A.V. McIntosh of Ogden and Mrs. C.O. Davis of Wendell, all of whom were present shortly after she had passed away.
Mrs. Thomas lived for some time at various points in Iowa, and Sourth Dakota and came to Ogden in 1890, at which place she lived for eight years, after which she moved to Bridger Valley, Wyoming where she established her home and resided most of her time since until about a year ago when she accompanied her daughter to Wendell. Mr. Thomas died in Iowa.
The body was taken to Ogden Sunday evening where funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Tuesday and interment made in the Ogden Cemetery.
