Devin R. Barnes, age 17, of Carbondale, PA., died Friday, December 18, 2009, at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale.
Born September 29, 1992 in Scranton, PA., he is the son of David and Mary Ann (Misura) Barnes of Carbondale.
He was a junior at Carbondale Area High School and enjoyed drawing and playing on the computer. He loved spending time at home with his family and friends.
He is survived by two brothers: Robert Travers and wife Rachel of Blakeslee, PA. and Peter Barnes at home; maternal grandparents: Peter and Ann Misura of Carbondale, PA.; paternal grandmother: Violet Barnes of Carbondale, PA.; several aunts, uncles and cousins which include: Cathy Sue and Gary Loyack and sons Aaron and Andrew of Greenfield Township, PA.; Peter and Chris Misura of Sarasota, FL., Mark and Patricia Misura and children Mark and Rosanna of Carbondale, PA. and Lisa Misura and daughter Tarra Calpin of Sarasota, FL.; great uncles and great aunt: Robert Morgan of Carbondale, PA. and Michael and Donna Grohol of Carbondale, PA.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Robert Barnes.
The funeral was held Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at 1:30 PM from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA, with services at 2:00 PM in the Trinity Episcopal Church, 58 River Street, Carbondale, PA, with Rev. Donald Schaible, pastor, officiating. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
