Pioneer Women Dies, Raymond
RAYMOND, Aug 3 – the death of a beloved pioneer woman of Raymond, Mrs. Susanna B. Hicks, aged 86, occurred at the family residence yesterday. She is survived by her sons, Joseph and Frank of Raymond and relatives in the United States. Funeral arrangements in the hands of Christensen Bros. of Lethbridge are not completed.

POINEER WOMAN BURIED, RAYMOND
RAYMOND, Aug 8, in the passing of Susan B. Hicks, over whose remains funeral services were held in the stake house here yesterday. Raymond loses another pioneer and one of its oldest and highly respected citizens.
Death to the 86-year-old lady was not unexpected since she has been allying for some time.
Bishop J. O. Hicken was in charge of the services with Wesley W. McMullen directing the choir, and L. r. Stone accompanist at the organ. Two of Raymond's first pioneer's residents of Alberta more than 40 years. T. O. King and H. S. Allen, preached sermons as these services; also C. E. Allred who came to Raymond 35 years ago.
Elder H. S. Allen, former president paid tribute to this splendid woman, whom, despite widowhood for more them 48 ears had made sacrifices for her religion by sending three of her sons on missions for her church. The same speaker preached a sermon on pre-existence and the mission of the Savior stressing the obligations of mankind here on earth if reward is to be expected hereafter.
There was a large attendance and a beautiful display of floral offerings. Deceased is survived by three sons, Joseph and Grant of Raymond, and Roy of Utah. Also one brother Charles Buehler, residing at Pleasant Grove, Utah. Interment was in the city cemetery with Christensen Bros. of Lethbridge in charge of the arrangements.
