Graveside services for Otha Braskell Bennett, 90, Clanton, will be held at Thorsby Memorial Cemetery on Friday, July 5, 2002, at 1 p.m. with Martin Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 5, 2002, from 11-12:30 p.m. Bennett was born in Clay County on May 8, 1913, the son of the late Thomas Jessie Bennett and the late Rosa Virginia Bennett. He was a truck driver. He died on July 1, 2002, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Bennett, Clanton; two sons, Gene Bennett, Shannon, Ga., Robert Bennett, Thorsby; three daughters, Patricia Staggs, Lois Belk, Lera Langston, all of Jemison; one sister, Mattie Bullock, Birmingham; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
