Mrs. Bass was born January 16, 1935, in Moffett, Oklahoma. She was an only child raised in a home with eight aunts and uncles in New Boston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her dad, Merl Norvell, and her mother, Ella Norvell, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She had been a resident of Longview since 1960. Mrs. Bass loved to travel as evidenced by the many road trips and cruises she enjoyed with her husband throughout their life together. She also treasured the domino games and Bible studies she shared with her many close friends. Laughter and family dominated her existence on earth, and she carried them with her to her heavenly home. Betty served on staff at First Baptist Church of Longview for 37 years.
