Georgia O. Day Coussens, 82, passed away April 20, 1997. She was born July 16, 1914 in Haileyville, Oklahoma. A resident of Talihina since 1965 when she married Herman Howell Coussens. She was a retired nurse and retired rancher. She is survived by a daugher and a son, two stepsons, four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. A member of the Talihina Methodist Church. Georgia Coussens organized a Rainbow Order for Girls and a Girl Scout Troup, recevied the Order of Eastern Star in 1976, was the Worthy Matron of Talihina Chapter #322 and Honored Queen Personal Page to the Worthy Grand Patron, was on the Shriners Crippled Children Comission, the National Cattlemen's Association, the National Cowbells of Oklahoma, and was President of the Women's State Soil Conservation. Memorial Contributions to the Alzheimer Association or to the Circle of Hope Hospice are requested instead of flowers. Harding and Orr and McDaniel in El Paso was the funeral home in charge of services. Gravesite services were held at Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso, Texas. Rev. Tom Garmon of Western Mills Methodist Church presided.
