FANNIE MAE ALEXANDER died Sunday, December 23, 2001. She was born January 3, 1910 in Bardwell, Texas to Mary Emma Caudle Steele and John Clinton Steele and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Jesse L. Alexander. Mrs. Alexander is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jesse L. Jr., and Merle Alexander; daughter, Nancy A. Fagley, daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Thomas L. Caldwell, and daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Daniel H. Thomasson. She was "Honey" to six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, with whom she had a special relationship. A resident of The Hampton at Post Oak, she was a charter member of Willow Meadows Baptist Church and a member of the Cornerstone Bible Class. Fannie was unassuming, but a master at homemaking, cooking and loving her family. She was an expert bridge player and a creative artist. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2001 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, December 28, 2001 in the Chapel with Reverend David Duty officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Ezell for his compassion and understanding care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children or the charity of your choice.
