The Passing of Mrs. Wm. H. Jenkins
Sarah Ellen Mounts was born August 23, 1854, at Amity, Pennsylvania. When she was eleven years of age her parents moved to Indiana, where, when she was 22 years of age she was married to William H. Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins and their three children came to Texas in 1883 and have lived in the state ever since.
Mrs Jenkins very early in life united with the Methodist church and until failing health prevented, was an untiring and faithful worker in her Master's vineyard. After more than two years of intense suffering she passed to her reward last Monday. She was fully prepared for the end and asked her family to meet her in the Great Beyond. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Goodenough at the Palacios cemetery tuesday afternoon and the remains tenderly laid to rest. Besides the numerous friends to mourn her loss there are the sorrowing husband and seven sons and daughters; The sons are: James A., David, Thomas A., Francis M. and Joseph W.; the daughters Mrs. Otis J. Foraker and Mrs. Ann Turner.
