YORKVILLE - William J. Sprague, 71, of 5th St., June 19, 1983 at home.
He was born in Cooperstown, March 2, 1912, son of William J. and Nellie VanDusen Sprague. Graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1933 and married Eleanor B. Bailey July 26, 1935 in Utica. She died October 14, 1980. He was employed by the Red Star Express Lines and the American Hard Wall & Plaster Co. He was a member of Whitestown Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Joan) Crowe of Clayville; four sons, Jack B., Yorkville, David and Paul, both of Utica, William, of Webster; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. George (Clara) Robbins, Mechanicville; one brother, Louis, Richfield Springs.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the J.W. Dimbleby Funeral home, Whitesboro. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9. ["Utica Observer-Dispatch, Utica, Oneida, New York, June 20, 1983."]
