On Wednesday morning, August 31st at 3:30 o'clock the Death Angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Shelton and took from their midst the loving father and husband and left a vacant place in the home that will never be filled here on earth again but a place is filled in heaven. His presence will be missed but we feel and know that this is God's holy will that he should leave us. He leaves to mourn their loss a wife, Mrs. Charlotte Shelton and eight children. Messers Jim, John, Wiley, Ben and Edd Shelton and Misses Ora and Flora Shelton and Mrs. Romain Shelton. Our hearts are grieved to part with this good man, he was well known in Madison County and was a good citizen. He was loved by all who knew him and children if you ever want to see papa anymore make up your mind and meet him in heaven as that is a place where no death, sad parting, grief and pain ever comes. Boys let me beg you through the columns of the News-Record to give your heart to God and meet father in that beautiful country, lay aside the pleasure of this old world and lets go where death comes no more. This is the advice of one that prays for you all. Just know he said he was ready and willing to go when the summons came and no other doubt but what he is resting with Jesus today. Just stop and think where you are going to spend a long eternity. Let us say that we are going to meet papa in heaven. The writer was left an orphan girl in 1923 but I am ready to go. I know I would meet papa in heaven if I should die today. The family have our greatest sympathy.
