Evelyn Albaugh

Evelyn M. Albaugh, 88, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday (March 10, 2013) at the Pierpont Center, Fairmont Campus. She was born in southern West Virginia on Sept. 14, 1924, a daughter of the late K.D. Albaugh and Opal M. (Rankin) Albaugh West.
Evelyn's family moved to Ohio where she graduated from nursing school. She worked as a nurse in both Washington, Pa., and Waynesburg, Pa. Following her retirement, she and her family moved to Fairmont where she cared for her mother and stepfather. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and was later associated with Gateway United Methodist Church.
She is survived by close friends, Larry Hawkins and his wife Cheryl of Fairmont; a nephew, Rex Albaugh of Wheeling; and two sisters-in-law, Alma Albaugh and Norma Albaugh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Albert "Buck" W. West; and her brother, Charles Albaugh.
In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, there will be no funeral home visitation. Funeral services will be private.
