Anson F. Batchelder, 56, who resided west of Peru on Shooting Park Rd., died about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in People's Hospital where he had been a patient one day. He was employed for a number of years at the Peru Dairy and was formerly one of the operators of the Mid-Way Cafe at the junction of Rts. 51 and 52, south of Mendota.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Pagani funeral home with the Rev. W.C. Liefeld of of St John's Lutheran Church, Peru, officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
A lifelong resident of Peru, he was born Oct 2, 1906, in Peru, a son of the late Frane and Orpha Robinson Batchelder.
Surviving are a daughter, two grandchildren and two brothers.
