2 August 1866 Wobke, his father- and brother-in-law Isaac and Leendert Vander Meer, Dirk Vanden Bos, their wifes and others, totalling 42 persons, estabished in Pella the Ware Hollandsch Gereformeerde Kerk (True Dutch Reformed Church) and they elected Leendert Vander Meer as deacon for the new congregation.
In 1870 the family with six children left Pella in a wagon train for Orange City, Sioux County, in the northwest of Iowa. According to the Census 1870 they lived there in Township 95, Range 43, with six children: Adeline (18 y), Anna (16), Isaac (12), Mary (9), John (7) and Henry (3). Their post office was O'brien County. In 1871 was Wopke one of the 24 charter organizers of the Holland Christian Reformed Church and in 1873 with his farher-in-law Isaak Vander Meer and his wife Marie of the First Christian Reformed Church of Orange City, that was established in April/May 1870 by 77 persons from Pella. He died there in October 1885 at the age of 69 years, since October 1871 widower of Antje van der Meer.
