Anna Maude Brown, daughter of Daniel E. and Mary Ellen Carey, was born Nov. 22, 1871, at Macon, Mo., and departed this life at the Blue Valley Home in Hebron, Nebr., Feb. 24, 1961, at the age of 89 years and 3 months. She came to Nebraska with her parents, in 1880 and settled in Thayer County.
On August 22, 1893, she was united in marriage to Herbert L. Brown and to this union five sons and three daughters were born. Two sons died in infancy. Her husband and one son, Truman, and one daughter, Audrey, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Brown was a life long member of the Hebron Presbyterian Church. She entered the Blue Valley Home in Jan. of 1958 and while there received tender care and loving attention.
Those who survive her passing are two sons and two daughters; B. B. Brown of Hebron, Mrs. George Wills of Gresham, Ore., Mrs. Ed Corliss of Kersey, Colo., and Phillip Brown of Issaquah, Wash. Also, 23 grandchildren. One brother, Orville Carey of Kansas City, Ks. One sister, Mrs. Mabelle Weyer of Hastings, Neb. Besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at Hebron Presbyterian Church. Burial in Hebron cemetery.
