Mrs. Lillie Campbell Dies at San Antonio
Mrs. Birdie Clark recieved a message this morning conveying the sad news of the death of her sister, Mrs. Lellie Campbell, which occurred this morning at 1 o'clock at her home in San Antonio. Mrs. Campbell had been in ill health for probably several weeks; however, her family and loved ones were greatly shocked over her passing, especially relatives here. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Ruby May Campbell of San Antonio, a brother, F. J. O'Connor of this city, and three sisters, Mrs. Clark of this city, Mrs. Texas Williams of Roswell, N.M. and Mrs. Doald Campbell of El Paso. Her husband, William Campbell, one-time prominent stockman of West Texas, passed away nearly twenty years ago. A son preceded her death, passing away at the age of 16.
Mrs. Campbell was born in Gonzales March 10, 1867, in the old O'Connor home located on the site of the Nicholson residence on North Avenue and was a daughter of Judge J. F. O'Connor, an old and prominent of citizen of Gonzales. She was in her 57th year. For many years Mrs. Campbell had been an active member of the Presbyterian church.
The news of her death brings sorrow to the hearts of many girlhood friends in Gonzales.
Mrs. Clark left today for San Antonio to attended the funeral, which has been set for Saturday, with interment in San Antonio. Mr. O'Connor will leave tomorrow for San Antonio.
