Based in Miami, Florida, since 1990, she participated in important works of Cuban theater in the exile as "Night of the murderers" by José Triana, "Jesús" by Virgilio Piñera, with Teatro Avante, and "Delirio Habanero" by Pedro Alberto and directed by Alberto Sarraín. She was best known in the art world as "La Maga" ("The Magician"). She was suffering terminal cancer and traveled to Cuba to say goodbye to her mother, because the island's government had denied a visa for travel to the United States to visit her seriously ill daughter. She had arrived in Cuba on August 16 and died at her mother's house.
