Just a note to explain why Moses is buried in this old pioneer cemetery in Jackson County, Missouri. His sister was Rachael (Sharp) McPherson, mother of Edward McPherson who left North Carolina for the settlement called Kaw on the Santa Fe Trail. The old King Burial grounds now called Mount Pleasant Cemetery is where just a few headstones from nearly 75 remain, including Thomas's. Apparently Moses migrated to this settlement on the Kansas/Missouri border with his nephew Thomas. At some point his and his son Tillman B Sharp were both buried here.
