Gerald S. Meyer, 67, formerly of Chebanse, died Thursday (Aug. 16, 2012) at Hospice of Natchez at Elko, Minn., following a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 3, 1943, in Kankakee, the son of Arthur and Gladys Cailteux, of Chebanse. He graduated from the University of Illinois and served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his three sisters and two brothers- in-law, Wanda and Louis Wolfe, of Clifton, Idella Brooks, of Chebanse, and Lois and Robert Teske, of Buckley; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Vernon and Judith Meyer, and Kenneth and Elaine Meyer, all of Chebanse, Merle Meyer, of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Richard and Kathy Meyer, of Baldwin, Wis.; and special friend, Jean Fisher, of Naperville.
Funeral service's at Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse. Cremation rites were accorded. Burial will be held at a later date in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Natchez or to the hospice of your choice.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
