Britt Adair, 69, passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 20, 2012, at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Britt was born October 20, 1942, in Marshalltown, Iowa to Britt and June Adair. He served in the U.S. Army and was the Chief of Police in Altoona for many years. After his retirement from the Altoona Police Dept. he worked for Slumberland fully retiring in 2007 to help care for and raise his grandson, Cayden. Britt enjoyed fishing and being with his family. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Britt is survived by (omitted for privacy). He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Heather in 2007.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, 4300 Beaver Ave., followed by burial at Altoona Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Jesus says, "GO!" fund.
