Obituary: Service for Ted Griffn, 71, Maud will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Maud First Baptist Church. The Rev. John Watts will officiate. Burial will be in Cummings Cemetery, Maud, under the direction of Knight Funeral Home, Maud.
He died Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Seminole Hospital. Griffin was born April 23, 1916 in Battest, Okla. to Robert and Minnie (Hogan) Griffin. He married Thelma White on June 2, 1944 in Idabel, OK. He was a retired employee of Weyerhaeuser Lumber and moved from Clebit to Maud in 1980.
Griffin was a Mason and a member and deacon of Maud First Baptist Church.
Survivors inclued his wife, Thelma Griffin, of the home; one son Ray Lee Griffin, Route 3, Seminole. Four daughters, Ola Mae Trout and Christine Brown, both of Maud, Linda Williams, Minco and Lola O'Daniel of Enid; six brothers, Lester Griffin and Robert Griffin both of Battiest; Harland Griffin, Broken Bow, Bill Griffin, ElReno, LeRoy Griffin, Ridgecrest, Calif. and Hollis Griffin, Lakeview, Ore. 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
