Everett Lyle Bollman, 85, of Luana, died Sunday, October 3, 2004 at the Fransician Skemp Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin, following a brief illness. He was born July 29, 1919, rural Luana, to Ira Sanky and Edna Mae Perkins-Bollman. Everett attended Smithfield country school and Luana High School through the tenth grade and then had to go to work on the family farm to help his father. On May 14, 1940 Everett was united in marriage to Dora Jean Clark at the United Brethren parsonage in Postville, Iowa by Rev. William Suckow. Six children were born to this union. He farmed his entire life on the family farm. Everett enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseshoes, gardening, children and grandchildren as well as wild flowers. He never forgot to bring his wife, Dora, a fresh bouquet of flowers from the woods whenever he found them. The love of the land and of nature was truly alive in dad. He had a dog, Spook and a cat, Bubbles. He also had a grandson, Gary Bollman, who he and Dora raised as their own and a grandaughter who died in infancy, Sandra Bollman . Everett spent many years as treasurer of the Forest Mills Church, he was a member of the Monona Ringers horseshoe league, and other organizations over the years. He is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven.

He is survived by his children, Jerry & Cheryl Bollman of Waukon, Jim & Susan Bollman of Harpers Ferry, Doralee & Richard Huinker of Monona, Marcia & Ron Harris of Monona, Clark & Vickie Bollman of Waukon, Scott & Kim Bollman of Luana, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also, a brother Leo Bollman of Monona.
Precedded in death by his parents Ira and Edna Bollman, and sister and brothers, Helen Price, Clyde Bollman, Avery Bollman, and Leatrice Sharp grandchildren Gary and Sandra.

This poem was written by a nice lady. I am honored to add it to my dads bio.

For Everett:

Where the earth meets the sky,

That's where your sweet Daddy lies.

His hands worked the soil,

From dawn to dusk he toiled.

From dirt he brought forth food and flora,

Of which he showered on his precious Dora.

He was blessed with six offspring,

To them he was everything.

They repaid him with children of their own,

To continue the love that filled their home.

He loved the earth and things God made,

And from which he took, he also gave.

To his faithful companions he was true,

He waits for them in the sky so blue.

A man who was happy with family and friends,

Who even now his love he sends.

In the flowers that bloom, the birds that sing.

The rainbows that glow, the bells that ring.

Make a wish on a star, blow a kiss as well.

Everett might catch it, who can tell?

He watches over his flock down here below,

And as a reminder, so you will know,

Look at the smiles of the children,

His love shines out when they grin!
