Palastean Gay Cobb
Palastean Gay Cobb, 63, of Eleanor went home to be with her Lord on Sept. 24, 2004, after courageously living with lung cancer for 22 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Edward Bailey and Georgia May Fisher Bailey.
Palastean is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Bobby Carol Cobb of Eleanor; a daughter, Deborah Ann Tucker of Teays Valley; and two sons, Dwayne Carroll Cobb and Richard Lee Cobb, both of Buffalo, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Tucker, and Gabriel and Amelia Cobb; one sister, Charlotte Ann Meadows of Hurricane, W.Va.; her “stand in” mom, Maxine Painter Bailey of Nitro; one step sister, Brenda Harrison of Liberty, W.Va.; three step brothers, Fred Painter of Winfield, W.Va., Gary Painter and Glenn Painter, both of Hurricane, W.Va.; three uncles, Marvin Bailey of Nitro, Thomas Petry of Vienna, W.Va., and Lowell D. Fisher of Charleston; two aunts, Mabel Christy of North Benton, Ohio, and Beatrice McClanahan of Scott Depot, W.Va.
She was a Christian and attended Kelly's Creek Independent Baptist Church on Route 4, Charleston.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Donnie Kiser officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery, Eleanor, W.Va.
Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, at the funeral home.
