DAVENPORT — Funeral services for Charles R. "Charlie" Wallerich, 78, a former resident of the John Lewis Community Services Housing Program, and most recently a resident of St. Mary's Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. You can pay your respects Friday at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport from noon until 12:45 p.m. Charlie died peacefully Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at St. Mary's. Charles Robert Wallerich was born February 23, 1934, in Washington, Iowa, a son of Elmer Roy and Helen Belle (Baker) Wallerich. He had a multitude of talents, and enjoyed working odd jobs over the years. Charlie was a quiet, private, respectful gentleman, who depending on the circumstances, could be feisty and quite direct! He enjoyed reading and watching world and local news. Charles life was an interesting adventure with many experiences and temporary homes. He truly felt that at St. Mary's, he was home.
