Henry C. Beckner October 18 and 29, 1909
After a long illness of several months, Henry Clay Beckner, one of Warren County's old settlers, died at 12:30 yesterday in the Monmouth hospital where he was taken several weeks ago in hopes that something could be done for him. His illness was due to internal troubles which together with his old age were the cause of his death.
Mr. Beckner was born in Kentucky, March, 10, 1849. His parents died when he was two years old, and a few years later he came to Warren county and settled near Youngstown. He lived here for many years until about thirteen years ago when he came to Monmouth and has been employed in Plant No. 1 of the Western Stoneware since that time…..he has three children living: Earl C. Beckner of Youngstown, Ernest L.Beckner of Roseville and Mrs. C.L. Blair of Youngstown.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Christian church, with Rev. Chandler of Youngstown in charge. Interment will be made in the Monmouth cemetery. (20) (description of funeral)
