Charles J. Vergin, of 1353 Brockle Drive, York, Penn., died Friday, May 30,
1986 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, York, Penn. Graveside services will be
at the convenience of the family at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions
may be made to Charles J. Vergin Memorial Fund at the York College, Country
Club road, York, Penn., 17403 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Mr. Vergin was born at Poy Sippi, Wis., son of the late Edward and Ada Dildine
Vergin. He was a graduate in 1923 from University of Wisconsin Madison with a
BS in Mechanical Engineering and was employed by Medusa Cement Company in
Manitowoc, Wis., and Cleveland, Ohio and had been the Plant Manager in York
for many years. In 1955 he joined the faculty of the former York Junior College
where he taught in the Science Department for 20 years. He was a United States
Army Veteran of World War I.
There will be no visitation. Local funeral arrangements are being made by Jens
Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
