ELSIE MIMMS BARNES

Milton - Elsie Mimms Barnes, 82, of 436 McCann Road died Monday, September 6, 2004 at Alamance Regional Medical Center following a period of declining health. She was born in Caswell County June 1, 1922 to the late Samuel E. and Florine Hall Mimms. She was educated in Caswell County Schools, was a homemaker and was of Methodist faith.

Survivors are her husband R. M. Barnes of the home, three daughters Florine Grimm, Linda Cowager and June Howard, all of Baltimore, MD, one brother Bobbie Mimms of Glen Allen, Va, four step children; Teresa Samtoy of California, Joyce Spencer of Florida, Tim Barnes of Georgia and Barry Barnes of Virginia, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Wednesday 6:30-8pm at Harrelson Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA, 23058-5216.

Interment for Mrs. Barnes will be in Baltimore.
