Bruce Alexander Bartell, 96, of Loveland, OH, formerly of Plano, IL passed away, January 31, 2008 in Loveland, OH. He was born June 5, 1911 in St. Clair, MI, the son of William and Edith (Young) Bartell. He moved to Evanston, there he met his wife, the love of his life, Margaret Vickerman, and was married on March 30, 1935. Bruce and Peg moved to Plano in 1949 to raise their family. Peg and Bruce happily spent the next 65 years together until her passing in December, 2000.

After moving to Evanston he worked for Wiebolts & Company, later attending Northwestern School of Commerce. In 1957 Bruce joined The Savogran Company of Norwood, Massachusetts where he worked for 20 years, retiring as Midwest District Sales Manager in 1977.

Bruce had a keen interest in photography and was active in the Sandwich Camera Club and Fox Valley Photographic Society. In the early 1950's Bruce with the help of his wife and neighbors were instrumental in restarting the Cub and Boy Scout program in Plano. Bruce had a love for all growing things and was a masterful woodworker. Bruce was also a member of Cedardell Golf Club for 50 years and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his daughters, Jill (Jack) Jungels of Loveland, OH and Melody (Wally) Herreid of Plano; and son, Jeffrey (Rowan) Bartell of Naples, Florida; as well as his grandchildren, Holly (Douglas) Leavitt of Weaverville, NC, Joy Hill of Fort Thomas, KY, Jay Jungels of Keene, NH, Kip Bartell of Dubuque, IA, Kim (Vicki) Bartell of Santa Fe, NM, Robin (Tarry) Williams of Rushville, IL; and great-grandchildren, Zachary and Justin Leavitt, Kayleigh, Alyson and Joseph Hill and Cody and Noah Williams.

He now joins his beloved wife, Margaret; his parents, William and Edith Bartell; and his sister, Alice Horn.
