TEXT OF OBITUARY: (December 20, 1944)
JOHN T. BOOKOUT
Gaffney, Dec. 19--John Thomas Bookout, 66, of Alma Mills, died today following an illness of 13 weeks. He had been a resident of Gaffney for 21, years.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the East Gaffney Baptist Church by the Rev. L. N. Epley. Interment will be in the Thompson's Chapel cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Stark Bagwell Bookout; two daughters, Misses Lois and Agnes Bookout; a foster daughter, Mrs. Hazel Davis; a son, Ellard Bookout in the army in New Guinea; and two sisters, Mrs. Docia Jones of Boiling Springs and Mrs. Lizzie Hinson of Columbia.
