Henry Vail was the son of Jeremiah Vail, Sr. and Mary Bradley and grandson of John Michael Vail and Rachel Funderburk. He married Dollie Ann Elizabeth Blalock Anderson (md 1. Ed), daughter of Stephen Jefferson Blalock and Elizabeth Brown. Their 5 children were James Monroe, Sarah Ann Frances Henrietta Jane, John Rubin, Henry Irvin and an infant that died at birth. His name is incorrectly spelled Vale (original spelling of Vail) on tombstone.
