Born in Cambridge, New York July 3, 1960, he was the son of the late James E. and Ozella (Hunt) Chaplin. Ed received his education in Hoosick Falls, New York and was a 1978 graduate of Hoosick Falls Central School.
For many years Ed was employed as an electrician throughout the area.
Ed was a "fanatic" New York Yankee fan. His fondest pastime was time spent with his family, especially his granddaughter, Adrianna.
Survivors include a son, Jason Chaplin and his fiancé, Jasmine Daiuto, of Troy; a granddaughter who was the light of his life, Adrianna; six sisters, Susan Miles of Schenectady, New York, Anna Galvin of Hoosick Falls New York, Barbara Despres of Fair Haven, Donna Baker of Buskirk, New York, Gloria Cefferillo of Mechanicville, New York and Theresa Caccamo of North Bennington; two brothers, James Edward Chaplin II of Hoosick Falls, New York and Lenny Lee Chaplin of Bennington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed was predeceased by three sisters and a brother, Victoria "Vicky" Winchell, Juanita Chaplin, Betty Sousis and Charles E. Chaplin.
At Ed's request private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
