Here Saturday
Mrs. Lena Adams, widow of D.D. Adams, died Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Mayfield Hospital. Mrs Adams, who was 87 years of age, suffered a fractured hip in a fall early last week. She resideded at 231 North 7th Street.
Daughter of the late J.C. and Opehlia Belote, Mrs. Adams was a member of one of Mayfield's oldest and most respected families. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jesse Kelly, with whom she made her home, and Mrs. L.M. Callis, also of Mayfield, and Mrs. James Perryman, Waterboro, S.C. She also leaves two brothers, B.N. Belote, Mayfield, and Dr. Garnett Belote, Calendonia, Md., a sister, Mrs. F.E. Blackburn, Mayfield, 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at Byrn Funeral Home, with the Rev. J.C. Gilbert, paster of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park.
Pallbearers will be Edwin Wison, Guy Koonce, Harry Morehead, Alfred Lindsey, B.N. Belote, Jr., and Lewis Calhoun.
