Nancy Ashba was born in Lebanon county, Pennsylvania, November 4, 1833, and departed this life in Terre Haute at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. H. Porter, Sept. 3, 1917, age 84 years and 10 months.
In 1852 she was united in marriage to Hezekiah Ashba who departed this life 22 years ago. To this union were born eleven children, two of whom died in early childhood. Nine children still survive her, seven daughters and two sons.
She truly lived the unselfish, self sacrificing life. She was a member of the church of God at Radnor, and was an old settler of the county coming here shortly after her marriage to Mr. Ashba.
Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida Titlow, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
