He was born about 1861 possibly in Tennessee, possibly Wilson County. Lived in Mississippi before moving to Arkansas. He married his 2nd wife Nancy R Lee on August 14, 1887 in Searcy County, Arkansas. Allen, Nancy and family moved to Oklahoma in 1919/1920 to work in the oil fields, moved back to Arkansas to Izard County in 1924 after their son Troy died in Creek County, Oklahoma of TB. Allen and Nancy lived in Surrounded Hill, Ar, near Oil Trough when Nancy died. He was a blacksmith, carpenter, Mason, also owned and operated a sawmill on Devil's Backbone on Mt. Olive in Izard County, Arkansas. He died of a heart attack at his son Roy's home in Caraway, Arkansas. Allen was buried in Lower Cane Island Cemetery by the Masons. According to family his headstone was displaced by a tornado several years ago.
